The energy performance certificate (certificado de eficiencia energética) rates the energy efficiency of a property on a scale from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). It is mandatory in Spain for all property sales and rentals. Without it, you cannot legally advertise or finalise a sale or rental agreement.
For any property sale, residential rental agreement or tourist rental licence (ETV) in Spain. It must be registered with the Balearic Government and shown to prospective buyers or tenants.
Thermal insulation, heating and cooling systems, hot water installations, windows and orientations. The result is an A–G energy rating label.
Valid for 10 years. Must be renewed if major energy improvements are made to the property or if it expires before sale or rental.
